Right around the corner

Hello and good morning. I hope everyone is having a good week and growing in a positive direction. Its 10:27am and I’m at work… again. But that’s ok! I’m grateful to have a job that provides for my wife and I (she works very hard too)

Sooooooo….
I’m moving to California in 10 days. Excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about it. I’m ready for this new chapter in my life to get going. Its going to have a new job, new friends, new surroundings, and I’m sure a new set of problems to come with it.
But today I’m curious if anyone reading this has any experience with moving far away from your home town? What were some of the challenges you faced? What was easy/hard about it?

I think the hardest part for me is going to be not knowing how to get around town. I have lived in Louisville Kentucky for 27 years so when I need to get somewhere I know how. I’m going to have to learn a whole new set of neighborhoods and street names. Not to mention new freeways and traffic patterns.

Let me know what you guys think.

  1. Hey man! I actually moved to California from NY 2.5 years ago. I grew up in NY. I loved the transition. I moved out here with my wife, and then we got pregnant. Now, we have an amazing two year old little girl! The biggest challenge is learning the new culture. Yes, it is still the USA, but its a big country as you know. The next challenge is finding people who you really connect with. As adults, many are set in their ways and not looking for new friends. But alas, you will surely find some people you enjoy hanging with. It is an exciting thing to move! Good luck.
