My Baby Cakes

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is feeling inspired today and ready to shake things up just a bit. It’s 9:30am and I’m sipping a Java Monster thinking about how beautiful life is. More specifically how beautiful my wife Bethany is.

**spoiler alert: this post is going to be about my love for a woman**

OK back to the subject. Beth and I have been married for almost 2 years now. We met through a mutual friend but had to maintain our friendship long distance because she lived in California and I lived in Kentucky. For 3 years our friendship looked like Facebook messages, phone calls at 3am, and text messages that brightened my day.

Then in October of 2012 we both decided if this was going to go anywhere we had to make something happen. We arranged for Bethany to come visit Louisville in April of 2013. We spent a week together and it was awesome, but that’s another post for another time.

I met her mom and step dad a few months later on a vacation in Chicago. We all hit it off great. Her mother is a saint. I don’t think there is a kinder woman walking the earth than my mother in law Joanna.

After we all went home from the Chicago trip Beth and I had a decision to make. If we were going to have a relationship together one of us was going to have to move. Luckily we both were young and had no children to complicate matters. We took the plunge and decided to get married.

Now I know what you’re thinking. That we’re crazy for getting married so fast. You would be justified in thinking it foolish, but guess what… We work. Like peanut butter and jelly, cereal and milk, like chicken tikki masala and naan. We work. Anyone who knows us can’t deny that were perfect for each other.

Now I know its only been 2 years but we are going strong. We compliment each other so well. We keep each other balanced and pushing towards the next level, whatever that may be. Not to say it doesn’t have its challenges, but the good far outweighs the bad.

I couldn’t ask for a better woman. Bethany is bright, funny, and compassionate. Traits that I’m having a hard time seeing in a world so focused on self. Women like her are the glue that hold the world  together. I’m overjoyed to get to spend my life with the one God made for me.

I know you’ll read this someday.
I love you Sweet Sauce
